Necessary Order

Editorial | Print

This publication is about the massacre of college students that took place in 1968, in Mexico City. This massacre was ordered by the President at the time, and it was swept under the rug for decades. I wanted to depict the before, during and after the tragedy. I chose to strictly use Helvetica as my typeface, since it feels appropriate for the time. I crafted the climax of the massacre to be as dark, gutting and unnerving as possible. While the end feels more muted, monotone and intentionally dull, as to how one would naturally feel after such injustice takes lives of hundreds of innocent civilians.
